Future Leaders' Summit (FLS)

Established in 2015, the Future Leaders’ Summit is a biennial initiative of the SPDMM. It convenes military and civilian participants from SPDMM members to enhance knowledge of best practice civil-military coordination in humanitarian crisis responses, promote awareness of emerging regional defence and security issues, build relationships and develop strategic leadership.

The Summit has been held four times – in Papua New Guinea (2015 and 2018), in New Zealand (2023) and in Australia (2025). The next Future Leaders’ Summit will take place in 2027.
